What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Norwalk Seventh-day Adventist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Holy Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

There is one eternally existing Gᴏᴅ who has three distinct persons: Gᴏᴅ the Father, Gᴏᴅ the Son, and Gᴏᴅ the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. Gᴏᴅ is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Revelation

Gᴏᴅ has revealed Himself to humanity through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible Gᴏᴅ, through the Holy Scriptures, and through His creation. The Bible is the inspired Word of Gᴏᴅ and serves as the ultimate authority for faith, belief, and daily living.

Mankind

Humanity, both male and female, was created in the image of Gᴏᴅ for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and given freedom of choice, as well as the responsibility to care for Gᴏᴅ’s creation. Each person is uniquely valued and created with purpose.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose to disobey Gᴏᴅ, sin entered the world. As a result, humanity became separated from Gᴏᴅ, and His perfect image in us was distorted. This separation brought brokenness, suffering, and death, affecting all of creation from that moment forward.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with Gᴏᴅ. He lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Through His resurrection, He defeated sin and death. By grace, salvation is offered as a free gift to all who accept Jesus Christ by faith as their Lᴏʀᴅ and Savior. Through Him, we are forgiven, restored, and given the promise of eternal life.

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, called to reflect His character and share His message with the world. It exists to worship Gᴏᴅ, nurture believers, serve others, and proclaim the everlasting gospel to all people.

Resurrection & Second Coming

Jesus Christ will return again, visibly and gloriously, to judge the living and the dead. At His coming, the righteous will be raised to eternal life, and Gᴏᴅ will restore all things. This blessed hope is central to our faith and inspires us to live faithfully as we await His return.

Sabbath

The seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) is a sacred gift from Gᴏᴅ—a day of rest, worship, and renewal. It is a time set apart to deepen our relationship with Gᴏᴅ and reflect on His creation and redemption.

Health & Wholeness

We believe Gᴏᴅ calls us to care for our bodies as His temple. Through healthy living—physically, mentally, and spiritually—we honor Gᴏᴅ and experience a fuller, more abundant life.
