The Battle Behind the Battle: When Heaven Pulls Back the Curtain by Pastor Peter Baptiste
What if the battle you can see isn’t the real battle you’re fighting?
In “The Battle Behind the Battle,” Pastor Peter Baptiste takes us into Daniel 10, where Daniel prays, fasts, and waits for 21 days without seeing an answer. Yet heaven reveals that Gᴏᴅ heard him from the very first day. While Daniel waited on earth, a spiritual conflict was unfolding in a realm he could not see.
This message reminds us that “sometimes heaven fights while earth waits.” The struggles we see—in our marriages, families, finances, health, churches, and relationships—can tempt us to fight people, circumstances, and problems in our own strength. But Scripture reminds us that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood.” Your spouse is not your enemy. Your church member is not your enemy. Your supervisor is not your enemy. There is a battle behind the battle.
Pastor Peter challenges us to stop exhausting ourselves on the wrong battlefield and take our battles to Gᴏᴅ in prayer. For the next 21 days, before reaching for the phone, reading the headlines, or starting the day, take that battle before the Lᴏʀᴅ—not because day 21 guarantees the answer we want, but because Daniel reminds us that Gᴏᴅ hears us on day one and is already working in ways we cannot see.
The enemy may still fight, but he is fighting a war he has already lost. Calvary settled the outcome. Christ has already won, and when we stand with Him, the battle behind the battle belongs to Him.
